If you are attending orientation as a parent or are a 1st year student needing additional nights accommodations in June or July, you will be staying in Mark G. Yudof Hall. Yudof Hall is a six-story coeducational apartment-style hall. If you are coming in August, you will be staying in Comstock Hall which is a six-story coeducational hall. Both halls are adjacent to the east bank of the Mississippi River, Coffman Memorial Union, and the Weisman Art Museum.
Included in the nightly rate is a linen set (sheets, blanket, pillow & towel set), laundry access, and guest access to the University of Minnesota wireless internet network. The Information Desk is staffed 24 hours a day to answer questions and provide additional linens, blankets, etc. as needed. The fully ADA compliant building offers specific rooms to accommodate ADA needs, available upon request. All reservations are binding and will be billed for the entire amount if cancellation is not received 14 days prior to arrival.
First year students attending orientation in June and July DO NOT have to pay for housing between Day 1 and Day 2 of actual orientation dates. Those arrangements have been made for you by Orientation & First-Year Programs. You only need to pay extra for additional nights accommodations.
If a student is attending orientation on their own and needs early or late accommodations, the single student rate is $27.00. Students arriving early will share a room with another student also arriving early.

For families attending orientation with your student, you will be in a shared room. The cost is $71 per night for two people. Please keep in mind that your student is required to stay with the other Orientation Students the night of Day 1 if attending in June or July. Therefore, you will not need to make a reservation for that night for your student as it is covered in their Orientation Fees/Registration.
For families arriving early to attend orientation with your student and need overnight accommodations, a shared room will be available. The rates are:
$44 per night for 1 guest
$27 per night for each additional guest
If you are attending orientation in June or July, please keep in mind that your student is required to stay with the other Orientation Students the night between their Day 1 and Day 2 of orientation. Therefore, you will not need to make a reservation for that night for your student as it is covered by Orientation & First-Year Programs.

For transfer students needing ANY housing during orientation, the rate is $27.00 per night and students will be placed with another transfer student.
The University of Minnesota campus area offers two distinct neighborhoods that provide a variety of dining and shopping options. Dinkytown and Stadium Village offer everything you need from dining to drugstores, within a short walk of Mark G. Yudof Hall and Comstock Hall. The three on-campus light rail stations make transit between cities simple and convenient.
Parking is available for overnight guests in the East River Road Garage for $6 per day. The East River Road Garagae is attached to Mark G. Yudof Hall.
